The buzz:

GiantTarpon:

As long as the winds are light, we're still flying GiantTarpon on every trip. The crowds are gone and the fish are here for just one purpose, to feed.

For those who love to throw artificial lures on bass tackle and catch GiantTarpon, this is your time to fish. Live bait and dead bait fishing are also techniques we frequently practice. The fishing is often best at first light, at dusk and all night which works great for avoiding the summer heat.

Redfish:

Plenty of reds are being taken in the backcountry. Live bait fished on the points and edges of the mangroves are working best.

Snook:

We're getting some slot and over-slot snook the past few weeks. Snook remain under emergency closure. The game commission will discuss what will be of the snook closure/harvest in their September meeting.

Props:

To the feds for starting a crackdown investigation into fraudulent claims for BP compensation money. There are fishermen entitled and in need of this money and then, there are those who are not. Go get em'!

Over the years, keeping the fishing reports updated and fresh has been challenging when you spend your life on the water. Now, in the era of "smart phones", we have found a way to over-come this hurdle.

All season I have been up-loading live reports and pictures to our Facebook site. We've had an overwhelming response! I'll continue to use this page to keep a general picture of the fishing easily accessible to all. However, we strongly encourage you to join us in being on the cutting edge.

Would you like to see the images you see on this page the second they are taken, read live micro fishing reports and view live video from the boat? Here is how....

In Facebook, you must register to view our pages. You can become a “friend” of mine by request at
